Hot Mulled Cider

Makes: 1 gallon

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon cider
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 8 to 10 3-inch cinnamon sticks
  • 10 to 15 whole allspice berries
  • 20 to 25 whole clove

Instructions

  1. In a six quart kettle, bring all the ingredients for boiling; simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes. Strain through a double layer of cheesecloth (or ladle out carefully, which is what I do).
  2. Refrigerate the cider until needed (but take spices out first for this).
  3. Reheat for serving
